A Significant Amount Of Players, Recruits, And Transfers Are Losing For Alabama Football
The Alabama Crimson Tide are having difficulty staying together since Nick Saban left.
Since Nick Saban’s departure, the Alabama Crimson Tide have suffered a great deal of losses.
Early in January, Saban announced his resignation, allegedly taking the Tide by surprise and replacing him with Kalen DeBoer as head coach. Both current players on the roster and recruits have left the program in large numbers since DeBoer was hired.
There hasn’t been an abundance of unknown backups who haven’t made an impression for Alabama. Prominent wide receivers, first-team safeties, and crucial offensive linemen are among the 13 starters who have either graduated, submitted an NFL draft application, or accessed the transfer portal. Ten backup players have followed suit.
The transfer site has been accessed by a total of 28 players. To be fair, a good many of whom left before Saban did, but the players who are now departing the Crimson Tide are notable players.
Below is a summary of the losses the Tide have suffered thus far. The players in bold were the starters.
It will be fascinating to see how Kalen DeBoer recovers from the significant loss of depth and production. Thankfully, Jalen Milroe, the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide, has remained with the team. Perhaps he will be a pivotal figure for 2024.
