RAMS ADDED TO STAFF FEB 14.NFL reporter Paul Kuharsky reports that John Streicher, a former director of football administration for the Tennessee Titans, has joined the Los Angeles Rams staff as the team’s new coordinator of football strategy.
Prior to Mike Vrabel’s departure this season, Streicher had worked for the Titans since 2018 in a variety of capacities.
Streicher helped the Tennessee team with in-game decisions, game management, and other game strategy-related tasks in his most recent position.
FEB 13: NEW SWAG FOR 2024?With the intention of making personnel adjustments and moving up to the next level in 2024, the Los Angeles Rams are entering the summer.
But those may not be the only adjustments they have planned for the roster.
The squad appears to have hinted at a new uniform for the 2024 campaign in a recent X video, one that might include “A piece of history.”
The new jerseys will be unveiled on Tuesday.
RAMS IN THE SUPER BOWL, FEB. 11Even if the Los Angeles Rams did not advance to Super Bowl LVIII, supporters should still watch.
Defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day and backup quarterback Brandon Allen, both former Rams players who are currently with the San Francisco 49ers, will participate in the big game on Sunday.
From 2019 to 2021, Joseph Day was a member of the Rams, supporting them in their pursuit of winning Super Bowl LVI. He participated in 38 games, starting 38 of them, and recorded 137 tackles, six sacks, nine tackles for loss, and 14 quarterback hits during that time.
Despite spending two seasons with Los Angeles in 2017 and 2018, Allen was never on the field.
MAHOMES LIKE STAFFORD FEB. 6In Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will square off.
With the possible exception of Taylor Swift, the Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is vying for his third Super Bowl championship, will likely be the biggest attraction of the day.
During his Tuesday media appearance, Mahomes was questioned about the quarterbacks he looked up to as a child. Matthew Stafford of the Rams was among the players he mentioned.
“If there was one quarterback… I loved watching Aaron Rodgers, I liked watching Brett Favre, I liked watching Matthew Stafford,” Mahomes stated. “Players who were essentially prolonging and bringing plays to life. Being raised in that part of East Texas, I really enjoyed watching Tony Romo.”
In Super Bowl LVI, Stafford and Mahomes almost squared off. And they would have, if Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow hadn’t saved the game by rallying Cincinnati from a 21-3 hole.
Mahomes, on the other hand, saw Stafford lift the trophy and took inspiration from it for the next season—a season in which he would return it to Kansas City.
49ERS TO SUPER BOWL LVIII ON JAN 28The San Francisco 49ers, the archrival of the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West, defeated the Detroit Lions 34–31 in Santa Clara, advancing to the Super Bowl once again.
Before the half, the Lions, who were once headed by former Rams quarterback Jared Goff, had a dominant 24-7 lead.
However, the 49ers’ strong third quarter leveled the game, and MVP candidate Christian McCaffrey’s late touchdown run sealed the victory.
With no interceptions at the end of the game, Goff completed 25 of 41 for 273 yards and a score, setting the stage for the Lions to make their deepest playoff run in over thirty years.
NACUA TIES GROMAN JAN. 6Puka Nacua, the rookie wide receiver for the Rams, needed four receptions for 29 yards heading into Sunday’s game against the 49ers in order to complete the season with the most catches and yards of any rookie receiver in NFL history.
The Rams had him on the verge of breaking both after a drive in which he was targeted three times. Nacua caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Carson Wentz to level the game at seven points.
Nacua needs two catches and one yard to break both records as of right now. He has two catches for 28 yards and a score.
DARNOLD TO START VS RAMS ON JAN 3The San Francisco 49ers are utilizing their regular-season finale against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday to obtain extra rest ahead of the postseason, as they already have the NFC’s top seed secured.
Star running back Christian McCaffrey has already been told by the 49ers that he will miss Sunday’s game. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, backup quarterback Sam Darnold will start in place of quarterback Brock Purdy, who is expected to sit as well.
Throughout his debut season with the 49ers, Darnold—the third overall choice in the 2018 NFL Draft—has seen limited playing time. In nine appearances this season, the former quarterback for the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets has completed 12 of 20 passes for 108 yards and one score.
This game will essentially be a battle of the backups because the Rams will also start Carson Wentz over Matthew Stafford on Sunday.
DEC 31 RAMS RETURN TO THE TOPOn Sunday, the New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams were knotted for the majority of the second quarter. However, in the latter stages of the half, a ball from Matthew Stafford to Cooper Kupp on second and goal gave L.A. a 14-7 lead. Below is a video of the play.
If the Rams triumph against the Pittsburgh Steelers later today and the Seattle Seahawks lose to them, they will guarantee a spot in the playoffs on Sunday.
Christmas present: Dec. 24 LionsIn terms of playoff placement, the Los Angeles Rams had a few games this weekend on their radar.
The Lions versus Vikings NFC North game was one of such contests. In addition to giving the Rams a significant advantage over the Vikings, a Lions victory would secure the NFC North Title and a postseason berth for the team.
And that’s exactly what happened for Los Angeles; after defeating the Vikings and dropping them to 7-8, Matthew Stafford’s former team opened up a two-game lead for the Rams.
The Rams also expected the Seahawks, Packers, and Falcons to lose, but that did not occur. They will, however, settle for what they can get this week following a decisive victory over the Commanders.
The Bears, who are now ahead of the Arizona Cardinals, will also be a target for the Rams.
STAFFORD TO NACUA FOR FIRST BLOOD ON DECEMBER 21On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Rams took the lead thanks to a passing touchdown from Matthew Stafford to Puka Nacua on fourth and goal, capping a drive that began deep in their own territory.
