As they play doubles at WTL, Paula Badosa shocks boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas with a “marriage” hint that reads, “Either we get divorced or this goes better.”
At the World Tennis League (WTL) in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, after their doubles play, Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas had a humorous on-court interview.
Tsitsipas and Badosa began dating in May 2023. The tennis couple has not held anything when discussing their love and connection. Due to a persistent back ailment, the former was mainly sidelined in 2023; nonetheless, she was regularly observed cheering Tsitsipas on from the sidelines during his games this season.
The pair was also scheduled to play together in the Wimbledon mixed doubles competition, but they were forced to withdraw when Badosa pulled out of the competition during her singles second-round match.
At the WTL exhibition event in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, December 21, Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas made their on-court debut together. The pair, together with Aryna Sabalenka and Grigor Dimitrov, representing Team Kites, squared up against Daniil Medvedev and Sofia Kenin of Team Eagles. Badosa and Tsitsipas defeated the Russian-American duo 6-4 in a single-set shootout.
The former World No. 2 delightfully disclosed her ultimatum after winning if the match went in favor of their opponents.
To Stefanos Tsitsipas’ surprise, though, the 26-year-old spoke of a “divorce” as opposed to a “break-up.”
After their victory, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa not only joked around but also expressed gratitude to one another.
Tsitsipas expressed his happiness to share the court with Badosa, stating that he had been following her tennis career for a few years. Badosa was also referred to as the two-time Grand Slam finalist’s “favorite female tennis player.”
After that, Paula Badosa expressed her joy at playing with Stefanos Tsitsipas, saying that the World No. 6 motivates her to improve both as a player and a person every day.
