Tyrell Sloan re-signs with Dragons
Tyrell Sloan has signed a two-year contract extension to remain at St George Illawarra.
The 22-year-old is closing in on his 50-game milestone in the NRL after debuting for the Dragons in 2021 and has recently established himself as the club’s long-term No.1 under Shane Flanagan.
“Tyrell’s an exciting young player who continues to learn and improve every week,” the coach said.
“His efforts to improve all parts of his game this year have been really pleasing.
“We’re looking forward to seeing him continue to develop at the Dragons over the coming seasons.”
Luke Garner re-signs with Panthers
Luke Garner has inked a new deal which will keep him at the foot of the mountains with the Panthers until at least the end of the 2026 campaign.
“It means a lot to me to re-sign with the club for another two years,” the 28-year-old said.
“Ivan Cleary gave me my NRL debut back in the day and then it was special to win a grand final with him last year.
“To stick around here for another two years is pretty exciting. It’s great to see where this club is going and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”
Jason Saab re-signs with Sea Eagles
Jason Saab has re-signed with Manly on a long-term deal which will take him through until 2029.
The winger, who has scored 53 tries in 75 NRL appearances, was already committed to the Sea Eagles until 2026 before inking new terms.
“The improvement Jason has shown over the last 18 months is significant,” Anthony Seibold said of the 23-year-old.
“I believe he can now become an elite winger and a representative class winger.”
Jake Simpkin signs with Sea Eagles after Tigers exit
Jake Simpkin has been granted an early release from his deal at the Wests Tigers in order to link up with Manly.
The dummy-half will depart from Concord immediately after signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Sea Eagles.
“We are very pleased to welcome Jake to Manly,” Anthony Seibold said as the club re-enforced their stocks at hooker with the imminent exit of Karl Lawton.
“He is a quality player who has already gained plenty of experience in the NRL for a young man.
“Jake adds some depth in the hooking role and we feel this is a very good addition to our playing group.”
Coen Hess re-signs with Cowboys
Coen Hess has signed a three-year contract extension which will likely see him become a one club player in the NRL.
The forward made his debut for the Cowboys in 2015 and has since gone on to establish himself as a key member of Todd Payten’s side.
“He has been a huge contributor to this club over a long period of time and is a point of difference for us on the field with the work he churns through as well as his enthusiasm and intensity,” GM of Football Micheal Luck said.
Meanwhile, the news comes off the back of the club also locking down Tom Mikaele on a two-year deal.
