Breaking News: NFL’s first Brazil game; Packers Vs Eagles Has Been Postponed Due To………

An NFL record-setting 2024 season opening between the Packers and Eagles is scheduled for São Paulo.

Officially, both teams are set for the Week 1 international match.

The NFL finally revealed the schedule for its inaugural South American meeting on Wednesday: the Philadelphia Eagles will take against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil. The Eagles were originally scheduled to play on September 6, a Friday night match that would take place one day after the 2024 season start. The Packers have since been confirmed as the opponent.

The Packers president Mark Murphy made the announcement weeks after he implied the NFL was still debating between Green Bay and the Cleveland Browns for the game that would take place at São Paulo’s Corinthians Arena. Prior to the historic Week 1 game, Browns defensive tackle Maurice Hurst suggested that Cleveland, not Green Bay, might be traveling to Brazil.

Now, the NFL will match up two of its most well-known young quarterbacks on a global platform: Jordan Love of the Packers, who just made his debut as Green Bay’s full-time starter, and Josh Halen Hurts of the Eagles, who is coming off a Super Bowl trip. Both Love and Hurts were selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, and in 2023, their respective clubs were strong contenders for the playoffs.

In addition to being the NFL’s first Week 1 game played on a Friday since 1970, their forthcoming battle in Brazil will only be streamed on NBC’s Peacock. Local TV networks and NFL+ will also carry the coverage. The start time has not yet been disclosed. In contrast, the Eagles will be the official “home team” regardless of the location.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a team statement, “We embrace the opportunity to grow our fanbase around the world and bring Eagles football to the 38 million sports fans in Brazil, with the global growth of our sport being a top priority to our league.” “One of the world’s most culturally diverse nations, Brazil is an international melting pot, and we look forward to experiencing its warm, vibrant, and welcoming environment later this year.”
