BREAKING NEWS: Leicester City Boss Enzo Maresca on Injury update as Leicester City prepare for Southampton trip

City fans will not have to wait as long as others to see their club play again after a weekend off in the Championship. On Friday (8 p.m. kickoff), they face Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.

However, it implies that Enzo Maresca will have little time to prepare until his international players return. Mads Hermansen, Danny Ward, Wout Faes, Harry Souttar, Callum Doyle, Cesare Casadei, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Patson Daka are all missing.

The majority have been in action over the weekend, with Souttar and Daka scoring, and fingers crossed that they all return healthy. All eyes have been on the game against Southampton for those who have remained at Seagrave, and City may have got a huge injury boost ahead of the game with the return of Conor Coady to training.

“This is a significant injury.” It’s most likely between 10 and 12 weeks. “It’s his back,” he explained. It means Praet won’t be able to play again until around November, with a game against Leeds United on November 4th perhaps being planned.

Smithies, Alex

The goalkeeper has not featured for the club since signing last summer, but he was brought in as the team’s third choice behind Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward. He has dropped down the pecking order as a result of Jakub Solarkczyk’s progress and the arrival of Mads Hermansen, although he has also been unavailable due to injury.

It’s unclear how long he’ll be out, but he won’t be allowed to compete in the Championship for City until after January. Smithies was kept out of City’s squad when the EFL revealed the roster this week due to City’s squad being one over the 25-man limit.
