Travis Kelce: Tight end calls Andy Reid, the head coach of Kansas City, “unacceptable” for his outburst.
“Definitely unacceptable” is how Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce described his actions toward head coach Andy Reid during Sunday’s Super Bowl.
During the first quarter of Kansas City’s overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Kelce ran onto Reid, 65, and yelled in his face.
After Isiah Pacheco mishandled the ball eight yards out, the 34-year-old became irate and was substituted out.
Reid and Kelce both played down the incident following the game in Las Vegas.
Kelce joked to CBS, “I was just telling him how much I love him,” while Reid informed ESPN that Kelce had issued an apology.
But Kelce stated, “I can’t get that fired up to the point where bumping coach and it’s getting him off balance and stuff.” in an interview on the podcast New Heights, external, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason.
It arrived at a time when neither I nor we were playing very well.
“It’s obviously inappropriate, and I wish I could take it back right away. After that, Coach Reid really approached me and didn’t say anything critical to me.”
The Philadelphia Eagles’ Jason Kelce, who spent two seasons playing for Reid, claimed that his brother had “crossed the line”.
“The yelling directed towards him was excessive as well,” Jason Kelce said on the program on Wednesday.
“I think there are better ways to handle this, retrospectively.”
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Kelce, claimed that Reid would have been justified in reacting violently to his outburst.
“I’m a passionate guy,” he continued. I adore Coach Reid. He is aware of my love for both playing for him and being a result of his teaching endeavors.”
