Breaking News: Just Now, Cowboys Head Coach dead at 87 after cancer battle: ‘A great teammate’…

Longtime football coach and former Dallas Cowboys lineman Char-ron Dorsey passed away at age 46.

Former offensive tackle with the Dallas Cowboys Char-ron Dorsey passed away. He later became a successful middle school and high school football coach in his home state of Florida. 46 was his age.

According to longtime coaching colleague Michael Holloway, who spoke with The Florida Times-Union, Dorsey passed away on Monday due to complications following a stroke.

“So many youngsters who have had the chance to go to the next level have benefited from his influence,” Holloway added.

Dorsey’s own football career began at Florida State University, where he played for coach Bobby Bowden’s 1999 Seminoles national championship squad. Dorsey started at right tackle and was named to the All-ACC team a year later.

After retiring, Jason Kelce hopes to “slim down” to 250 pounds. “I look forward to getting skinny,” he says.

According to the Times-Union, Dorsey was selected by the Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He started two games for the Cowboys before being cut and being acquired by the Houston Texans.

“Opfensive linemen are expected to be fairly large,” Dorsey stated in a newspaper interview in 2002. “Perhaps I become too huge.”

“I fight this every year,” he said. Every year, I receive a ton of questions regarding it. You start to grow weary of hearing about it at some point.

After leaving the NFL in 2003, Dorsey turned his attention to helping the upcoming crop of football players.

Before going on to coach at Jackson and Parker high schools, the former NFL player helped create a dynasty at Jacksonville’s Matthew Gilbert Middle School, leading the squad to an almost ten-year winning streak. His son, C.J. Dorsey, who plays defensive back for Ferris State University in Michigan, was one of his athletes.

The Times-Union reported that last year, Dorsey retired from coaching.

In addition, the father and former athlete made time to mentor young people in Jacksonville’s Eastside.

Holloway told the Jacksonville newspaper, “That was what he always taught the kids—all you have to do is work hard and you can make it.” “However, you must be prepared to walk through the flames.”
