Amir Khan files for divorce, accusing his wife Faryal Makhdoom of having a connection with Anthony Joshua. The boxers are embroiled in a scandal.
In a string of sharp tweets, Amir Khan declared his divorce from his wife, reportedly accusing her of “moving on quickly” with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua.
The former Olympian tweeted five times from Dubai, including a screenshot of text messages, announcing that he is “making it public.”
After his wife Faryal Makhdoom Khan retaliated, claiming the boxer didn’t need to publish “stupid tweets,” it seems the tweets were real.
World heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua interrupted their long tirade to refute the accusations.
The 30-year-old Khan started off by tweeting on Friday afternoon, saying, “So Faryal and I have decided to part ways. Right now, I’m in Dubai. Best wishes for her.
Then, he tweeted again, this time revealing Joshua’s handle, saying, “Faryal moved on quick.” She would frequently confide in me about how much she wanted to date a different man—a boxer, of course.
The mother of his child and model Faryal, however, didn’t take long to react on Twitter, telling her followers, “I’m sorry to all the fans & family hurt by this.” But Amir didn’t need to make foolish accusations against other people on Twitter when he was at fault.
“He’s been acting out because boxing hasn’t been going well for him, so I think he just needs some attention.”
After seeing the couple’s angry messages, Joshua took to Twitter himself and responded, “It wasn’t me,” alluding to Shaggy’s huge hit song.
“Bantz aside, I hope you guys can figure this out or this is a scam since we haven’t even met,” he added. I also enjoy my woman, BBW.”
Bolton native Khan took home a silver medal from the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Joshua, a Watford native who won an Olympic gold medal, has never lost in his professional career.
Later, Faryal claimed that her account had been hacked; however, Khan refuted her claims in a SnapChat video, stating that everything was “all real.”
“Everything you saw on social media is real,” he declared. It goes without saying that Faryal and I have decided to move on, and I have chosen to go.
Anthony Joshua says he didn’t have an affair with Amir Khan’s wife.
“Nothing has been compromised.” It is not good for any of us to wait around; we must go on. Simply put, I’m not pleased with how she treats me.
“I hope the best for her in the future.”
“Amir and Faryal have split up,” a source close to the Khan family told MailOnline. It’s finished. They were on the verge of divorcing because of the long-standing issues in their relationship. It’s the ideal result.
