The Green Bay Packers are in for an intriguing offseason.
The Packers will know their course after Aaron Rodgers makes his decision about his future. If Rodgers is still playing, either keep pushing for a title or concentrate on Jordan Love’s long-term goals.
The roster will see a lot of changes, as it does every offseason. A lot of players will depart, and the team will draft and use free agency to get new players.
The Packers should be prepared to let go of these three free agents this offseason.
Three Packers players in 2023 who won’t be forgotten
3. DT Jarran Reed
This season’s defensive line expectations were quite high, partly because Jarran Reed was signed in free agency.
Reed was merely ok in 14 games that he started. He had 14 quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and two recovered fumbles by the end of the season.
However, it was hoped that he would have a big impact on defense. Rather, for the majority of the season, Green Bay’s defensive line was a problem, especially against the run.
Reed’s contract with the Packers was only for one year, so come spring he will be available for free agency once more.
On few plays, rookie Devonte Wyatt made an impression, and Kenny Clark is still one of the Packers’ best defensive players.
This summer, Green Bay should use the draft to bolster the depth of their defensive line.
