Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, has only eight catches and 69 yards through three games, but the team isn’t concerned, according to a source with the Chiefs. “He is not injured, fatigued, or out of shape.
A Chiefs source informed me via text that ‘it’s such a long season, he will be there when it means most. “He started the same way last season.”
Kelce is a four-time first-team All-Pro and nine-time Pro Bowler, having won three Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs since 2019. From 2016 to 2022, he averaged 1,000 yards or more per season and continued to produce in 2023 (93 catches, 984 yards, five touchdowns).
Kelce, on the other hand, is only expected to catch 45 passes and gain 391 yards this season. Kelce is 35 on October 5, and he is in his 12th season, so one may question if age or the miles accumulated throughout his eventual Hall of Fame career had caught up with him.
