Gallimore was a back-of-the-rotation player in Dallas, not a major player. However, Miami sees value in Gallimore, thus he leaves with running back Tony Pollard (who is with the Tennessee Titans), defensive end Dorance Armstrong, center Tyler Biadasz, and defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. (they are in Washington).
12 MIXON MOVES MARCH The news of the Texans focusing on Joe Mixon was first reported by our friends at TexansDaily.com at SI.
And Texans will have their chance to see the running back. However, Houston is the destination, not Dallas, where the Cowboys still lack a running back.
Nixon was supposed to be cut by the Bengals. However, instead of letting him go, they are now trading him to the Texans.
MARCH 8 SELECTIONS Following the publication of the compensatory draft selections for all qualifying teams on Friday, the Dallas Cowboys’ official 2024 NFL Draft order was determined.
The fifth round pick (173 overall) and the sixth round pick (216 overall) will go to the Cowboys. The loss of offensive lineman Connor McGovern resulted in a fifth-round pick, while the loss of tight end Dalton Schultz resulted in a sixth-round selection.
Nine teams were awarded multiple compensatory choices, including the Cowboys.
Cowboys resign defensive lineman on March 6. Carl Davis, the backup nose tackle, was re-signed by the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, giving them further defensive depth.
In 2023, Davis played in three games (Week 15, 16, and 16) and received thirty snaps throughout the regular season.
Davis didn’t have a great season after being cut from the Seattle Seahawks practice squad. After Dallas acquired him in November, he was inactive for a short while.
Davis has played for a number of clubs in the past, the most of which were the New England Patriots (2020–2022) and Baltimore Ravens (2015–2017). In 2024, he hopes to provide the Cowboys some further assistance on early downs.
FEB. 13: DEAD TO DC NFL Network is the first to announce that the Commanders have hired Sharrif Floyd, a former employee of the Cowboys, as their assistant D-line coach.
Together with Dan Quinn, Floyd, the former MVP-caliber defensive lineman from the Vikings (where he naturally played for new Dallas coordinator Mike Zimmer), relocates to Washington.
With Zimmer joining, why not retain Floyd in this position? I hope past injuries have healed. However, Floyd took offense at the coach’s perceived disparaging public remarks near the end of his stint in Minnesota.
The frequently injured Floyd was “kind of out of sight/out of mind,” according to a September 2016 comment from Zimmer, who also said he was “used to” Floyd’s list of injuries.
That upset the player two years later.
“These words were used to slander my name, tarnish me as a person and a player,” Floyd stated in 2018. “So easy to forget the kinds of years (I) had when your support system has so much BS to say about you.”
SUPER SWIFT FEB. 11 Pop sensation Taylor Swift was recently seen on Allegiant Stadium’s big screen during a TV timeout. Swift is in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl, where she is supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce of the Chiefs against the 49ers.
