As the 2023 regular season came to a finish, the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks both had a 9-8 record. But the Packers capitalized, defeating Seattle to claim the final playoff spot. Both teams made some big coaching staff adjustments as the 2024 offseason got underway.
While the Packers nearly overhauled their defensive staff, Seattle hired a new head coach.

Wendell Ferreira of A to Z Sports outlined the several reasons why Seattle would benefit greatly from this move:
Green Bay selected Marcedes Lewis in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, given that Graham had gone to Chicago and Lewis was approaching retirement age.
A knee injury prevented the rookie from turning his strong final two seasons at Cincinnati into a good debut year. The 6-foot-2 tight end had a successful resurgence in 2021. In 16 games, he caught 25 passes on 33 targets for two scores.
Deguara seemed to be progressing nicely at first, but over the past two years, he has fallen behind in the depth chart and hasn’t been able to put it all together. The former University of Cincinnati Bearcat pass catcher participated in 15 games (four starts), as newcomers Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft increasingly took over passing-related roles for the squad.
In spite of playing just 17.8% of offensive plays, Deguara caught eight passes for 65 yards on eight targets. Musgrave completed 42.7% of the offensive plays, gaining 352 yards and a touchdown on 34 receptions (46 targets). Kraft caught 31 passes (40 targets) for 355 yards and two scores in 56.6% of offensive plays.
Deguara and the Packers appear to be facing certain doom; Seattle may step in at this point.
