Jackson Mahomes is hailed as a hero for saving a child during the mass shooting at a parade.
Following his assistance in shielding innocent bystanders—among them a small child—during the gunfire incident at the Chiefs championship parade, Jackson Mahomes is being heralded as a hero.
Mahomes, the brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was at Union Station when the shooting occurred, which resulted in one fatality and twenty-one injuries.
On social media on Wednesday, February 14, a woman thanked Jackson for providing consolation to her and other people during the chaos, as well as for helping a small boy who had become separated from his parents.
“I have a newfound respect for Jackson Mahomes, and I don’t care what anyone says,” user @jess6mami posted on X, the previous Twitter platform, a day after the deadly shooting. Ana and I were stranded at Union Station by the trains, sheltering with him. Additionally, he was providing care and consoling a child who had lost both of his parents.
Many were shocked to learn that Mahomes was still on the field when the shooting started, although reports indicate that the Chiefs squad had left the area and given speeches before the onslaught of gunfire. The only person killed in the event was Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was shot and killed. One of the deceased’s coworkers released a statement expressing her grief for her loss.
On February 15, 2023, in Kansas City, Missouri, during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LVII victory parade, Jackson Mahomes and Patrick Mahomes #15 of the Kansas City Chiefs celebrate on stage.
The statement said, “We are letting our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez, host of Taste of Tejano, lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs’ rally with deep sadness and an incredibly heavy and broken heart.” “Her family has our deepest sympathies and prayers. A lovely person has been taken from her family and the KC community by this horrible act.
After being detained, three suspects are currently being held by the police. As of the time of publication, no charges had been brought in relation to the incident.

The supporters recently showed appreciation for Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of NFL player Patrick Mahomes, after a horrific shooting occurred during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade.
The media star has developed a notorious reputation for becoming involved in scandals; the most recent one was a sexual assault case. Although Jackson has received a lot of criticism, his reputation unexpectedly improved after his brave efforts during the pandemonium of February 14.
Online praise was showered onto Patrick Mahomes’ brother for tending to a “lost child” during the shooting.
A Chiefs Super Bowl parade eyewitness recently talked about her experience on X. She highlighted Jackson’s bravery in the midst of the shooting, pointing out that the 23-year-old stepped up to assist a lost youngster.
“I don’t care what anyone says but I have found a newfound respect for Jackson Mahomes,” the user of X said. He went on to say, “Ana and I were stuck hiding with him at Union Station by the trains and he was taking care of a child who lost his parents and helping him calm down.”
Other users’ responses to her account of Jackson’s bravery were divided; some praised him as a hero, while others were unable to get past the claims of his sexual assault. A supporter wrote that the shooting revealed the actual nature of the media personality.
“Truly find out about the character of people in times of adversity, tragedy whatever you want to call it..one can learn from mistakes and hopefully he has..many great things happened amongst all chaos yesterday..gives hope to us all.”
“You were hiding out with Jackson Mahomes during a crisis situation and he was helping to care for a child?!?” tweeted someone another, echoing similar concerns. That is so touching and unexpected. It only goes to show that people can surprise us with their behavior, even those who have a reputation for being a certain way.”
“You mean that despite what other people said to you about that individual, someone you didn’t know at all ended up being good? A third wrote, “Who would’ve thunk it?” apparently alluding to Jackson’s alleged sexual assault.
Critics, however, weren’t as fond of him, with one highlighting: “He sexually assaulted someone, therefore people who don’t believe that’s okay are vile? Oh my god. Another angry X user continued:
An intriguing point of view regarding Jackson’s persona was expressed by a third party, who said, “There are those who dislike him. For valid reasons, of course, but to take charge and act thoughtfully in such a frightening circumstance is to be respected.”
That does not imply that he is a generally decent guy. We can only hope that he will grow as a person and learn from this. He can yet make changes because he is still young,” they said.
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes Prayed Following the Heartbreaking Shooting
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and his spouse Brittany responded to the mass shooting on their own social media accounts. In an attempt to vent his pain, the NFL player wrote, “Praying for Kansas City.”
Brittany, meanwhile, broke her silence on her Instagram Story, writing, “Shooting is never the solution. This is difficult; I’m praying for Kansas City and for America as a whole.” Drue Tranquill, a fellow Kansas City Chiefs player, tweeted similar thoughts:
“Please join me in saying a prayer for each and every victim of this horrible act. Please pray for steady hands for medical professionals and first responders, as well as for complete healing for everybody.”
Given the scope of the horrific shooting that took place at the Super Bowl parade on February 14, prayers were required. During a news conference, Stacey Graces, the chief of police in Kansas City, discussed the incident and mentioned that bullets were fired close to Union Station.
Just after the Chiefs players had left the stage, shots were fired, injuring multiple people and killing one. Although it was first thought there were fifteen shooting casualties, Ross Grundyson, the chief of the Kansas City Fire Department, stated there were really more victims.
At a press conference, Grundyson stated that there were “22 gunshot victims in total, one of whom was fatal.” We had seven patients with potentially fatal injuries, eight patients deemed immediately life-threatening, and six patients with mild injuries.
