Falcons’ Raheem Morris Loses Another Assistant For The Rams – NFL Tracker
Bringing you the most recent Los Angeles Rams highlights and breaking news
Rams lose S&C coach to Falcons on February 12.According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, associate director of strength and conditioning John Griffin is leaving to take a lead strength and conditioning position with the Dirty Birds. This means that another Los Angeles Rams assistant coach will be joining Raheem Morris with the Atlanta Falcons.
After serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the previous two seasons, Griffin, 35, was just elevated to his current position during the offseason. Morris and he both played for the Rams for three seasons, so it was an obvious decision to bring him to Atlanta.
Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Griffin played collegiately for both South Carolina and Baylor.
Griffin joins Morris in Atlanta as the most recent in a long succession of Rams assistant coaches. Zac Robinson, the offensive coordinator for the Falcons, and Jimmy Lake, the new defensive coordinator, are among the coaches on the list.
DC, January 26 A CANDIDATE ARISESThe Los Angeles Rams have asked Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach Aden Durde for an interview for the freshly open defensive coordinator position, according to reports from ESPN’s Todd Archer.
After Dan Quinn left the Cowboys in 2021 to take the position of defensive coordinator in Atlanta, Durde joined the team.
Durde is also probably a possibility to take over as coordinator if Quinn ends up taking a head coaching job with the Seahawks or Commanders.
As a Cowboys intern, Durde started his coaching career in the National Football League.
JAN 17: THREE MORE UPDATESThe Los Angeles Rams signed four more players on Wednesday after signing ten players to futures contracts on Tuesday.
Miller Forristall and Nikola Kalinic were two tight ends that were signed among those two players.
Throughout his six NFL appearances, Forristall has only received one target.
Additionally, L.A. signed wide receiver Xavier Smith and guard Grant Miller to reserve/futures contracts.
FUTURES SIGNED JAN 16The Los Angeles Rams have secured their practice squad players for the off-season by signing ten players to futures contracts after their Sunday loss to the Detroit Lions.
Logan Bruss, a former third-round draft pick who the Rams discarded at the end of August and then added to the practice squad, is the group’s star player.
After spending the most of his NCAA career at right tackle, Bruss switched back to the position during OTAs, but Los Angeles attempted to make things work for him without success.
The final nail in Bruss’ coffin came from his terrible preseason, in which Pro Football Focus gave him an overall grade of just 47.5, ranking him sixth lowest among Los Angeles’ offensive players.
Bruss was re-added to the practice squad and played with them for the whole season once he passed waivers.
The Rams have signed the following players to future contracts; you can see the whole list below:
RAMS TRAVEL DELAYED JAN 15 AFTER LOSS IN PLAYOFFSThe sad 24-23 loss suffered by the Los Angeles Rams against the Detroit Lions on Sunday night in the wildcard round only got worse in the hours that followed.
Over 12 hours after their playoff departure, the Rams’ plane finally landed in Los Angeles, just before 9 a.m. PST, according to NFL Network.
The Rams struggled with “plane issues and hours and hours of delays,” which prolonged the already agonizing and lengthy night and slowed their return.
Still, the Rams have returned home safely and can now leave their nightmares from Detroit in the past.
CHARGERS WANT MORRIS ON JAN 9?It should come as no surprise that Los Angeles Rams coach Raheem Morris is being actively sought after for several positions throughout the league, as he is one of the most well-respected defensive coordinators in the modern NFL.
Since those positions became available, Morris has already been asked by the Panthers and Commanders, and now there is still another.
Right across town this time, with the Los Angeles Chargers.
After a very disappointing 5-9 season in which his club fielded one of the worst defenses in the NFL, the Chargers just fired coach Brandon Staley.
Morris, who did have head coaching experience in the past, was 21-38 in his two stints as interim head coach of the Falcons and Buccaneers.
Morris will be available for a video interview with the Chargers after the Rams and Lions Wild Card round game concludes. Interviews in person are not allowed until after the Divisional Round of competition.
CLOSING IN JAN 7.In only a few plays, Puka Nacua broke rookie receiving and touchdown records in a season. Now, the Los Angeles Rams are reducing the lead held by the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium.
A touchdown pass from Carson Wentz to Tyler Johnson put the Rams in the end zone and ended a 17-play, 75-yard possession that spanned 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
