Davante Adams, a wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, is among several Silver and Black players who are enthusiastic about the offensive improvements that new offensive coach Luke Getsy may make.

Getsy and Adams are friends because they were teammates with the Green Bay Packers. Getsy played for Green Bay for seven seasons, whereas Adams was a member of the team for eight.

Getsy developed a tight bond with Adams over his seven seasons with the Packers as an offensive quality control coach, quarterbacks coach, and wide receivers coach.

Adams completed with 554 catches, 6,568 yards, and 62 touchdowns while playing for Getsy in Green Bay.

Adams was the subject of an interview conducted by our Hono Carpenter Sr. during a local Make-a-Wish Foundation event.

When Adams got the chance to talk about Getsy, he was enthusiastic about the new offensive coordinator.

Adams remarked, “I was pretty excited.” “It is absolutely exciting because it is a guy I have worked with, I know how he works, I know how his mind works, and we have had success together,” the man said with a positive attitude.

“Innovation, the type of coach that is open-minded and going to be open to hearing things from the older players who know how this game works and the best way to accomplish things,” Adams continued when describing what Getsy would bring. It’s several diverse things. The inventiveness and receptiveness to the offense. I’m used to having a decent run-pass balance. That West Coast vibe, and the boys and I will enjoy working on new systems and things we are accustomed to.”
