11 Packers Who May Be Playing Sunday in Their Final Game in Green Bay
Which Green Bay Packers might be participating in their final game on Sunday as a member of the team?
In Week 18, the Green Bay Packers meet the Chicago Bears at home with the chance to go to the playoffs. Is it possible for Jordan Love, Matt LaFleur, and this talented young club to pull off a significant victory at home?
Last season, the Packers were in a similar situation, but they were unable to defeat the Detroit Lions at home, capping off an extremely disappointing Aaron Rodgers tenure and sending the team, well, packing.
The 2024 summer may bring about even more change for this team, much as the careers of Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers have ended in successive offseasons. Which players might be participating in their final games for the Packers versus the Bears in Week 18?
1. Running back Aaron Jones
Even though it could come as a surprise, the Packers may decide to cut Aaron Jones after this season. The seasoned Packer, whose basic pay is $11 million and whose cap hit is nearly $17.7 million, will turn 30 years old in 2019.
Jones is a free agent after the 2024 season, so the Packers would probably try to sell him. Alternatively, they could give Jones a post-June 1 cut and divide his dead cap money over the course of 2024 and 2025. Making him a post-June 1 cut would free up $12 million in cap room for the Packers the following season, which could prove to be significant given the impending Jordan Love extension.
