Good News: Zak Zinter and Will Johnson Has Finaly Been…

The Michigan Wolverines were missing top cornerback Will Johnson for the whole of the second half of their game against Ohio State.

As a true freshman last year, the 20-year-old became a starter for Michigan and has since been an important member of the team.

Johnson’s knee injury at the start of the 2023 season, however, forced him to miss two games and play only eight snaps against UNLV.

He did, however, make a comeback against Rutgers. He appears to have worsened his condition once more when Michigan defeated Ohio State to get to the Big Ten title game.

Will Johnson’s injury update

After the game against Ohio State, Michigan interim head coach Sherrone Moore provided an update on Will Johnson’s injuries. He was unconcerned about Johnson’s injury and dismissed it as a small glitch. This offers Michigan reason to believe he’ll be ready for the title game.

I believe he just had a lower leg injury, Moore added. I believe he’ll be fine. However, the boys adjusted admirably. I’m talking about ending the game with a pick.Very good. I’m happy about the defense, what it accomplished, and how it adapted.

Johnson was not the only player hurt during Michigan’s game against Ohio State. After suffering a left leg injury in the third quarter, starting right guard Zak Zinter was also carried off the field in a medical cart.

What happened to Will Johnson?

Will Johnson’s interception return to the Ohio State seven-yard line in the first quarter helped the Wolverines score. He was, however, sidelined for the majority of the second half due to a lower leg injury.

Johnson was spotted on the sidelines wearing his helmet. He did not, however, return to the field because doing so could have worsened his damaged leg further.

This may have jeopardized his prospects of playing in the Big Ten championship game against Iowa. He had two tackles and one interception as Michigan won the league title for the third time in a row.
