Good News: Prior to Week 11, Simone Biles’s spouse Jonathan Owens receives a degree of…

There were a lot of unknowns surrounding the Green Bay Packers going into the 2023 NFL season.

Of course, the team’s main concerns going into the season were Jordan Love and the inexperienced offensive pass catchers, but the safety position on defense was thought to be one of the major liabilities.

The safety position hasn’t been the Green Bay defense’s primary worry, despite the fact that questions about Love and the offense are still mostly unanswered.

It is possible to argue that throughout the entire season, it has been one of their advantages.

When Darnell Savage suffered a leg injury that sent him to injured reserve, he was enjoying one of his best seasons to date.Rudy Ford has been sidelined since the beginning of the season due to injury, but he has been a reliable backup.

The seasoned Jonathan Owens has been starting in place of Savage and has performed better than many anticipated in this kind of duty. He performed so well, in fact, that head coach Matt LaFleur specifically mentioned him in today’s news conference.

Jonathan Owens is praised by Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur

During the second half of their game on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Green Bay Packers defenders, including safety Jonathan Owens (34) and safety Anthony Johnson Jr. (36) celebrated their interception.

LaFleur stated that Owens has filled in as the team’s starting safety and that he has done “an unbelievable” job, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:

As previously said, Savage was enjoying one of his best seasons prior to suffering his injuries. Apparently, so Owens.

Although Owens played his first full NFL season as a 17-game starter for the Houston Texans, he was hardly a dominant defensive player when he signed with Green Bay.

He recorded an amazing 125 total tackles in the previous season. But when targeted, he also surrendered a 66.7% completion rate, while quarterbacks who threw to him had a 128.5 passer rating.

Not exactly the best numbers, and when he took Savage’s starting position, fans didn’t have high expectations for him.

Owens hasn’t been the useless player of the previous season, though. Against opposing quarterbacks, he has allowed a career-low 62.5% completion percentage while keeping them to a 75.0 passer rating thus far in 2023.

Jonathan Owens Is Married to U.S. Olympic Gymnast Simone Biles

Olympian Simone Biles, left, converses with a stadium employee during the second quarter of the Packers’ Friday, August 11, 2023, preseason game at Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium against the Bengals. Biles is married to Jonathan Owens, a safety for the Packers.

The majority of fans are aware that during the offseason, Owens married Olympic great Simone Biles. To be exact, the couple flew to Green Bay to sign his contract with the Packers, breaking up their honeymoon.

Biles will be at Lambeau Field when the Packers play the Kansas City Chiefs. This season, Biles has not attended many Packers games.

She said on social media that if she went to see her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, she would love to meet music sensation Taylor Swift.

A meeting of this nature would serve as a useful trial run to see how Green Bay will fare when it serves as the host city for the NFL Draft in 2025.
