“Stupid” Nicolas Raskin has been told to shut talking and to keep his ambitions to leave Rangers and join the English Premier League to himself.
In an exclusive interview with Football Insider, former Celtics striker Frank McAvennie said Raskin would alienate the supporters with such baseless charges.
In an interview with La Tribune that was published by Football Scotland on October 13, the 22-year-old expressed his aspirations to play in the English top division and stated that the Glasgow giants are “just a stage” on his path to that level.
Despite making 27 appearances for the Scottish side since joining the Gers in January of last year, the midfielder has not scored.
McAvennie was perplexed by Raskin’s remarks because he had done nothing on the field to bolster them.
He told Football Insider, “You cannot say that; the fans will not accept it. Shut your mouth.”
Rangers shouldn’t be used as stepping stones by anyone. He needs to show it on the field before he starts babbling because he won’t be able to do it in England if he can’t do it in Scotland.
If you show the supporters that you care about them and the team, and that you are better than you think you are, they will support you on the field.
If you’re not doing it in Scotland, the English clubs won’t want you, so if you’re not doing it on the pitch, it’s just silly.
