An NFL veteran coach could be hired by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsboro, PA Matt Canada, the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is probably going to stay with the team for the rest of the season. But if he leaves in the spring, who would the team choose to take his place?
One potential option is former head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders Jon Gruden, who led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while Mike Tomlin was the defensive backs coach. Reuniting could be an option, according to someone inside the team who helped them win a Super Bowl together.
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette fielded a question regarding a possible replacement during his weekly conversation with Steelers supporters.
Far too soon to make assumptions. However, Jon Gruden, a Tomlin friend, would make a good one,” Dulac answered.
Gruden has achieved success in the NFL, although he is not currently playing for the Raiders. Although many would prefer that Pittsburgh go younger and perhaps locate the next Kyle Shannahan, or someone from his coaching tree, the Super Bowl-winning coach could be a positive move for the team.
