The Pittsburgh Steelers expand their roster with the addition of another gifted young cornerback.
Pittsboro, PA The Pittsburgh Steelers have added rookie fifth-round pick Darius Rush from the Kansas City Chiefs practise squad to their cornerback room, changing things up there. Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, they are also looking to trade for Desmond King.
The Indianapolis Colts selected Rush in the 2023 NFL Draught, however he was not included in the 53-man roster. The Chiefs claimed him, but in the end, he was released and signed back to the practise squad.
It should still be pretty fresh in their memories that the Steelers invited Rush in for a visit during the draught process. In his last season with the Gamecocks, the former wide receiver for South Carolina tallied 38 tackles and intercepted two passes.
Following his signing, Rush will be a member of the Steelers’ active roster for a minimum of four weeks. Before formally announcing the change, the team must work with King to decide on their course.
