If things don’t improve, the Pittsburgh Steelers could start looking for a new team.In Pittsburgh If the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive doesn’t start to improve, the team may start the process of changing. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the competition for the offensive coordinator’s job may heat up heading into the bye week if Matt Canada’s team continues to underperform.
Although the Steelers publicly expressed their support for Canada, Rapoport claims that the atmosphere within the team is different.
“The head coaches of the Steelers and Saints have openly endorsed offensive coordinators Matt Canada of the Steelers and Pete Carmichael of the Saints. According to talks with insiders familiar with the issue, their respective seats will be hot if productivity doesn’t pick up, Rapoport claims.
Many players, including head coach Mike Tomlin, have kept their stand in support of Canada. Even more so, running back Najee Harris stated that the players are to blame for the difficulties.
As they get closer to the bye week, the squad met this week to refocus and try to create a spark. But Canada may be out of a job if it doesn’t have the same impact as their encounter from last season, which converted a 2-6 start into a 7-2 surge.
