The reason Brian Johnson was dismised from the coaching…

The news that Brian Johnson will not be rejoining the Eagles as offensive coordinator will probably cheer up a lot of supporters. Johnson was considered a contributing factor to the coaching staff’s inability to fully utilize the team’s offensive potential, as he was the offensive play-caller.

There has been contention, though, that Johnson might have been unfairly given an excessive amount of blame since head coach Nick Sirianni is ultimately responsible for problems with play design and scheme.

Before the 2023 season, Sirianni made a forthright statement about his lack of emphasis on offensive creativity.

Even with the offensive difficulties, Sirianni’s position seems safe for the time being. Still, there are concerns regarding how long his position will last. It becomes imperative for an offensive coach to have a creative scheme, excellent game management abilities, and the capacity to maximize personnel potential when they are not the ones calling the plays.

Regretfully, Sirianni didn’t seem to possess these attributes during the turbulent 2023 season, which went from being spectacular to underwhelming to disastrous. Although it’s okay for a head coach to have atypical talents, Sirianni clearly lacked play calling, X & Os, and clock management skills.

He would have to make up for it by being exceptional in areas like team culture and motivation, but the 2023 season revealed that Sirianni was lacking in these areas.
