Simone Biles‘ husband, Jonathan Owens, gave an interview that featured some rather controversial comments discussed at length by the media but now the pair have weighed in themselves to declare they’re unfazed.

Owens, who plays in a defensive role for the Green Bay Packers, appeared on a podcast interview during which he said they met online and he didn’t know who she was and that he was the draw in the relationship.

I’m like, ‘Let me see who this is,'” Owens said to The Pivot. “I never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity.

“I always say that the men are the catch.”

Biles was actually present at the interview and didn’t seem to care about what he said as she laughed along with him and sarcastically rolled her eyes, but the media and fans did pick up the comments after.

Thus, she has responded to the discussion of her husband by posting a photo of them at their wedding, during which she captioned, “Mood”. Owens replied with a photo of the couple from the day they got married, along with the caption, “Unbothered.” Just know we locked in over here.”

Biles is an extraordinary American gymnast, widely regarded as one of the greatest in the sport’s history. She’s won numerous Olympic and World Championship medals, showcasing unparalleled skill, strength, and innovation in gymnastics.

Her dominance has even led to her having some moves named after her, or in her honor, following the 2023 World Championships.

Who is Jonathan Owens?

Jonathan Owens is an NFL safety who entered the league as an undrafted free agent. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2018 but gained more attention after joining the Houston Texans in 2020.

He signed with the Packers in 2023, and as of Week 15, his NFL career totals included 210 tackles, two sacks, six pass deflections, and one defensive touchdown. Away from the field, he is most known for his partnership with the much more well-known Biles.
