Transfer Ohio State Buckeyes It is claimed that Kyle McCord intends to commit to Syracuse.

Earlier this month, quarterback Kyle McCord announced his departure from the Ohio State Buckeyes by entering his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. This was a shock for the team.

Now, it seems like McCord may have chosen his next ACC team, the Syracuse Orange, according to reports from Brent Axe of Syracuse.com.

After a brief flirtation with Nebraska earlier in the week, McCord had just visited Syracuse, who was rumoured to have taken the poll position for his commitment.

With five of his six interceptions for the season coming in his final five games, McCord—who began every game for the Buckeyes this season—became a target of criticism from the fan base in the final stretch of the season.

However, McCord threw two crucial interceptions in the Buckeyes’ 30-24 defeat to the Wolverines, making the two largest mistakes of the season in the most significant game.

This season, with the Buckeyes, McCord completed 65.8 percent of his throws for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns, with just six interceptions, good for 14th in the nation in terms of quarterback rating.

The Reasons for Kyle McCord’s Exit from Ohio State Were Unveiled

Along with an 11-1 regular season, he guided the Buckeyes to a No. 7 College Football Playoff ranking.

In McCord’s absence, the Buckeyes might look to Devin Brown, Lincoln Kienholz, or incoming freshman Air Noland for assistance at the position via the portal.

Following his two seasons of playing in 12 games as a backup to C.J. Stroud, McCord will only have one more year of eligibility with the Orange.

With eight interceptions and 3,776 yards gained with 270 of 406 throws, he officially concludes his career with the Buckeyes
