That’s the opinion of a sports professor at Ohio University.
“It’s here to stay, it’s the new world,” stated David Ridpath, a professor of sports business.

In that new environment, coaches are under continual pressure to win at all costs, players transfer schools, and collegiate athletes get paid.
“It’s important to remember that coaches have historically and currently let players go when they discover a superior prospect,” Ridpath remarked.
However, why dismiss McCord? Despite a few setbacks, the starting quarterback enjoyed a season that most clubs would consider successful.
Ridpath made the observation that Day must prevail both now and in the future.
“Ryan Day was hired and fired based only on his ability to win,” stated Ridpath. It’s not players graduating; it’s not anything else. His success will be the only criterion used to evaluate him.
