Ohio police chief detained in Florida on suspicion of abusing a homeless man

Early on Friday morning, Boston Heights Police Chief Chad McArdle, 40, was charged with misdemeanor-level violence. In Key West, police officers took him into custody.

A cab driver reported that a man without a shirt was knocking on his door at approximately one in the morning to the police, according to an arrest report that Fox News Digital was able to get.

Before collapsing into the pavement in tears, the guy, later identified as McArdle, informed the driver he had been stabbed and that someone intended to murder him.

When Key West police finally got there, they discovered McArdle, who seemed anxious and bewildered.

He informed police that two individuals had forced and pulled him into a car and stabbed him, but the police were unable to detect any stabbing wounds on him.

“Mcardle [sic] was unable to identify the person who stabbed him or the kind of the stick.” According to the police report, “[He] said that he was able to take the stick from the man and stab him in the throat; Mcardle [sic] remarked that the man was probably dead now.”

Given that McArdle’s hands were clean of blood, the police thought he was providing inconsistent information.

Afterwards, a homeless guy was discovered by the officers laying on the alley’s floor. The man claimed to have been attacked.

The arrest report stated, “[The victim] indicated he was standing in the alley, and the unknown person kicked him in the back.” “[The victim] said that once he hit the ground, a male stranger repeatedly kicked him in the back.”

Afterwards, the destitute guy admitted to authorities that he knew McArdle was the one who had kicked him.

In the alley were also McArdle’s shoes.

Police stated, “It should be underlined that no evidence that could support Mcardle’s [sic] assertions was uncovered throughout the inquiry.”

Fox News Digital requested a statement from the Village of Boston Heights, but has not received a response.
