Breaking News: TreVeyon Henderson sent Michigan a two-word message that made them extra cautious.
TreVeyon Henderson of Ohio State football will make his long-awaited return to ‘The Game’ on Saturday, and Michigan is ready.
On Saturday at the Big House in Ann Arbor, the Ohio State football team will look to snap a two-game losing streak to archrival Michigan. While much of the attention is on Michigan’s missing coach, Jim Harbaugh, the return of TreVeyon Henderson to ‘The Game’ could be an even bigger story when all is said and done.
Ohio State football recently acquired an unheralded three-star recruit from a Big Ten rival. The “intense pressure” surrounding Ryan Day was highlighted by a FOX Sports analyst recently.
Henderson is expected to play against the Wolverines in Michigan on Saturday after missing last season’s loss in Columbus.
Ohio State Football RB Returns for ‘The Game’
Last season, current Buckeye Chip Trayanum led the team with 83 yards on 14 carries. Miyan Williams, another talented running back, had 34 yards on eight carries.
Henderson, a junior and former five-star recruit from Hopewell, Virginia, had 74 yards on 17 carries, including a touchdown, in Michigan’s 42-27 victory over the Wolverines in 2021’s ‘Game’ in Ann Arbor.
Prior to missing the 2022 match, Michigan running back Blake Corum had 87 yards in 2021.
Henderson could help the Buckeyes reduce or even eliminate the running game deficit that has plagued them the last two seasons against the Wolverines.
The Michigan defense is getting ready for the Ohio State running game challenge.
Michigan defenders, including Michael Barrett, spoke to Wolverines Wire about the challenge of facing Henderson again.
“He’s explosive, especially in the open field,” said Barrett.
“I have to concentrate on not letting him get started, letting him get going, and hitting them early and often.” Simply bringing him down while ensuring that we are wrapping hard, bringing our feet, and not missing any tackles. We can’t let him go. He’s an explosive playmaker who can blow a game wide open if given the opportunity. So all it has to do is keep him contained.”
Michigan defensive tackle Kris Jenkins expressed excitement for the challenge while discussing the Buckeyes’ dynamic playmaker.
Jenkins continued, “Undoubtedly, he is a dynamic playmaker, dynamic player, and great back.” “He is someone we are excited to play because he has the ability to make big plays in big moments.”
On Saturday at noon, Ohio State football will face Michigan on FOX.
