Nottingham Forest sought a £20 million player from Leeds but were put off by one factor.

Nottingham Forest were keen on signing Tyler Adams from Leeds United in the summer, but his injury put them off.

According to the Athletic, Adams’ recurring hamstring problem made Cooper hesitant to sign him, with Bournemouth eventually taking the risk late in the window.

Adams last played a professional football game in March, after suffering a catastrophic hamstring injury in training that has kept him out for nearly six months.

It is Adams’ first significant injury, and after appearing to be ready for the USA’s international matches in June, he suffered a recurrence of the problem, forcing him to miss the entire pre-season under Daniel Farke.

Farke said before moving to Bournemouth that Adams will be returning after the current international break, however that will no longer be for Leeds.

Adams’ injury versus Leeds put Forest on hold.

San Francisco 49ers Enterprises had hoped to keep Adams this season, but the 24-year-old stated his desire to return to the Premier League.

He had looked as though he would be joining Chelsea and even underwent a medical before they pulled the plug on a deal at the final moment to pursue moves for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia instead.
