REACTION: Dennis is passed over by Forest, and ex-Liverpool and Chelsea players Awoniyi and Aina are included in the 25-man Premier League squad.

The Reds presently have three international players from Nigeria on their roster, but they will only rely on two of them for the rest of the campaign.

According to sportheadline.co.uk, Nottingham Forest has announced its final 25-man squad list for the 2023–24 Premier League season.

The only Super Eagles stars on the roster that has been officially confirmed are Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina. Emmanuel Dennis, a forward from Nigeria, cannot play, though.

One of the 11 defenders available for Steve Cooper’s team is Aina, who only joined Forest this summer on a free transfer after leaving Serie A’s Torino.

Awoniyi will be the Tricky Trees’ attacking captain, with backup coming from Englishman Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi, former Liverpool attacker Divock Origi, and former Chelsea player Awoniyi.Taiwo Awoniyi 2022 – Net Worth, Salary, Sponsors, Wife, Tattoos, Cars, and more

Super Eagles striker Awoniyi led Forest in scoring last season with 10 goals, and the former Union Berlin attacker is off to a strong start this year.

Awoniyi has been nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for August after scoring three goals and providing an assist in four games.

The former Liverpool player has already won both the Player of the Month and Goal of the Month honors at Nottingham Forest.

Forest, on the other hand, has abandoned Awoniyi’s compatriot Dennis.

Dennis joined Nottingham Forest from Watford last season but had a disappointing season.

After apparently rejecting a bid from Russian team CSKA Moscow, the former Club Brugge man has been linked with moves to Turkey’s Adana Demirspor and Istanbul Basaksehir.
