Jesse Lingard was permitted to leave City Ground by Nottingham Forest at the conclusion of the 2022–23 season. The 30-year-old had very little success during his one season on Trentside.With West Ham, Lingard was about to sign a contract. The adaptable forward was given three weeks of trial time with the East Londoners by David Moyes, but no contract has been offered.
For the former England player at Forest, things didn’t exactly go as planned. Because of the limited preseason he had, he started the season quite rusty.
Lingard was just getting started at the time that World Cup football came to an end. As the Reds upset Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, he scored and claimed an assist, and things appeared to be looking better.
However, taking a break for the World Cup did him no favors. He came back with the intention of continuing where he left off, but a few injuries in the second half of the season prevented him from doing so.
He left the Reds having made 20 appearances for the club. During his time on Trentside, he scored two goals and claimed two assists but didn’t win a new contract.

The Saudi Pro League has started off well for Gerrard’s club. With five victories and a draw from their first seven games, they are currently fourth in the league rankings.
