58 touches, 93% pass success: Forest-owned 29-year-old’s Fantastic performance after leaving in August

Gustavo Scarpa was given permission by Nottingham Forest to depart the City Ground this summer, and last night he played for Olympiacos. Since landing in Greece, the Brazilian was making his second appearance. In January, the 29-year-old joined with the Reds. Scarpa offered something to the Forest lineup that perhaps other forward choices didn’t, although he also dealt with some setbacks.

Scarpa was involved in some of his personal information being hacked at the time of his participation in matchday teams and was compelled to return to Brazil. And if that wasn’t aggravating enough, he got hurt when he got back.

Scarpa is only on loan with Olympiacos at the moment. He has a City Ground contract that runs until 2026 and Forest will likely command a decent fee in order to sell him permanently.

According to rumors, the footballer might look to re-enter Brazil either in January or in the summer. For the time being, those theories have been rejected, and yesterday, he starred for Olympiacos.

On home soil, the Greek team destroyed AE Kifisias, with Scarpa playing the entire match. Impressive statistics include the Brazilian winning half of the ground duels he tried and completing 26 of his 28 passes.

During the game, Scarpa had 58 touches and four shots on goal. Now that the Forest fiasco is behind him, the athlete will try to maintain his position on the team.

Olympiacos will get this season to look at him. As a likeable character, supporters will wish him well for the future but it does feel as though he will struggle to make another Premier League appearance.

The Brazilian had previously been made to survive on Olympiacos’ scraps. He was having trouble breaking into the team, and it appeared that this was going to be yet another trying loan.

However, a strong showing and a sizable victory might compel Diego Martinez to extend his playing time. Scarpa will be seeking it at the age of 29, and he will be driven to succeed.

During his stint at the club, Scarpa played for Forest just 10 times. The Reds haven’t really lost anything by signing him on a free transfer, therefore it might be in everyone’s best interest to arrange a long-term transfer.
