“Deal now pretty much done,” journalist Ben Jacobs remarked, informing football fans on Saint-Maximin’s future. Allan Saint-Maximin has a medical appointment scheduled. The fee is approximately €35 million.”

The Frenchman has been a fan favorite for the club, appearing in 124 games for the Magpies in four years.

Medical treatment in Saint-Maximin is presently scheduled.

The 26-year-old winger can be’special’ on occasion, but he has not been consistent enough for Newcastle. To be able to collect roughly £30 million for him, as Jacobs suggests, is fantastic business.

The Frenchman has only scored 13 goals in 124 appearances for the club. You absolutely need and expect a higher return from someone with his talent.

On his day, the £93,000-a-week player can be a fantastic dribbler, but with Newcastle currently fighting near the top of the table rather than the bottom, they need consistent footballers, which Saint-Maximin has struggled to be.

They also have Champions League games next season and cannot afford to diminish the quality of their starting eleven when they must rotate.

The Magpies are having a banner summer. They want to strengthen and have already demonstrated their intent by acquiring Sandro Tonali.

If Eddie Howe wants to keep competing with the best in the division, he must put his feelings aside and sell players who have become surplus to requirements.
