NEWCASTLE UNITED HAVE AGREED WITH MANCHESTER UNITED PLAYER’S AGENTS FOR…

Newcastle United are still keen on Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay and could move for him last this month.

The representatives of Scott McTominay have been contacted by Newcastle United ahead of a potential switch.

That is according to Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy, who claims that Newcastle are lurking for McTominay’s signature.

West Ham United have launched a bid for McTominay this week but Manchester United said no.

The Hammers may now be moving on with midfielders Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse set to come in.

That leaves McTominay more likely to stay at Old Trafford but Newcastle still have an interest.

Reddy claims that Newcastle have told McTominay’s representatives that they could make a move later in the window.

The Magpies seemingly need to sell some players first in order to juggle Financial Fair Play, but McTominay is seemingly aware of a potential move.

Reddy does add that McTominay would be happy enough to stay at United, even if they’re happy to sell him at the right price.

“If they receive a good bid, he will go,” said Reddy. “The other thing to keep an eye on there is that Newcastle have held an interest in McTominay, and they have told his representatives that, depending on other deals, they may act on it later on in the window, so McTominay could have the option of West Ham and Newcastle, or he could end up quite happily staying at United,” she added.

Scott McTominay has been miscast in his career

Tall midfielders are regularly utilised in defensive midfield roles, especially when they’re as hard-working as McTominay.Scott McTominay 2022 – Net Worth, Salary, and Endorsements

That’s where we have seen the Scot but 2023 has shown that McTominay has been somewhat miscast in that role.

McTominay has been in outstanding form for Scotland, scoring five times in his last four caps.

Forget leaving McTominay to protect the back four, this is now time for McTominay to realise his calling as a box-crashing midfielder who can make a real threat breaking into the penalty area.

The 26-year-old could be given that kind of role at Newcastle, where Joe Willock, Joelinton and Sean Longstaff drift wide and have freedom to get forward.

McTominay won’t come cheap with United seeking more than £40million but if Newcastle can make a few sales, the Magpies could launch their bid.
