Vurnon Anita left Newcastle United in 2017 and has now released three singles.

Many Newcastle United fans will look back at Vurnon Anita’s time at the club with mixed emotions.

The midfielder and fullback harkens back to the agonizing Mike Ashley era, which culminated in the Toon’s relegation at the end of the 2015-16 season. Antia was also a member of the club that earned promotion back to the Premier League the following season before joining Leeds in 2017.

The footballer is now pursuing a career outside of football, playing for Al-Orobah in Saudi Arabia’s First Division.

The 34-year-old has established a rap music career as Vurnon ‘JR’ Anita. His debut single was released in 2021, and he now uses social media to promote his music and celebrate his football victories.

But where did his passion for music come from? Well, according to his Spotify bio, he’s always had a passion for music and something Anita may focus on more after he retires.

His passion of music began as a child. But it was his discovery of rap music that had the most impact on him. He recorded his first song in 2010 with Priester, Ryan Babel, and Leroy Fer. His passion for music has always been a huge part of his life, but it has never gotten this serious until now… Now, JR wants to focus on his passion and express his experience via music.
