Daniel Jones has decided to re-sign with the Giants in exchange for an enormous sum of money, so he is staying in New York with the team!Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that the 25-year-old quarterback will sign a new, four-year contract worth $160 MILLION with the Giants. Pelissero also mentioned the $35 million in incentives attached to the contract.
Jones is now among the NFL’s highest-paid players thanks to the new deal; he only makes a few thousand dollars less annually than players like Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and Patrick Mahomes.
Based on his performance in 2022, Jones was undoubtedly deserving of the new contract. He ran for 708 yards and seven more touchdowns while throwing for 3,205 yards and fifteen touchdowns.
He also led the G-Men to a playoff win over the Vikings as well.
With Jones’ deal completed, the Giants were able to place the franchise tag on the talented running back, virtually guaranteeing that he would be back in the same backfield as Jones in 2023. The new contract will now allow the Giants to keep Saquon Barkley in the fold as well.
