Giannis Antetokounmpo misses game versus the Toronto Raptors due to a calf injury
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo missed his first game of the season, as he was sidelined for the game against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night because of a strained right calf.
Injury troubles
Giannis has had injury problems over the last four seasons. He missed 19 games last season, mainly because of knee troubles.
He also missed two crucial games in their first-round loss to the Miami Heat because of a back injury.
Prior to the season, the “Greek Freak” also dealt with another knee injury that kept him from playing for Greece in the 2023 FIBA World Cup in Manila, Philippines.
Source of stability
Despite the Bucks’ rocky start to the season, Giannis has been his usual spectacular self, averaging 29.5 points on 58 percent shooting, along with 9.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
With Giannis sidelined, the team’s other superstar, Damian Lillard, was tasked with shouldering more of the offensive load. With 13 assists and 37 points, Dame led a dominant 128-112 victory in Toronto.
