ANN ARBOR, Mich. – According to police, 51 fans were ejected from Michigan Stadium during the Wolverines’ 30-24 victory over rival Ohio State on Saturday, Nov. 25.
According to data from the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security, it was the most in a single game during the 2023 football season.
According to police, there were 15 ejections for intoxication and 11 for violations of stadium rules. Six people were ejected for misusing their student MCard identification cards.
According to police, the remaining ejections were five for disorderly conduct, four for fraudulent passes to specific stadium areas, three for smoking violations, two for fraudulent tickets, two for trespassing, two for urinating in public, and one for attempted re-entry.
In addition, Huron Valley Ambulance and UM Department of Emergency Medicine paramedics treated 57 patients for first aid, with 33 of them involving alcohol use, according to police. According to police, twenty-one patients were also taken to the hospital, with seven of them being related to alcohol use.
126 people were ejected from the stadium during the seven games of the 2023 home football season, and four people were arrested. There had been 75 ejections as of November 25.
According to university police data, there were 174 ejections and four arrests during the eight home games last season.
The Wolverines maintained their unbeaten record with a six-point victory over the visiting Buckeyes. They will now travel to Indianapolis to face Iowa in the Big Ten Championship game, which will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, December 2.
