BREAKING NEWS: Michigan caretaker coach Sherrone Moore issues an important injury update on JJ McCarthy, Michael Barrett and roman wilson ahead of Ohio State clash

ANN ARBOR, MI – The undefeated Wolverines and undefeated Buckeyes, both 11-0 and ranked among the top three in the country, will settle everything on the gridiron tomorrow. One team will win the Big Ten East and, most likely, a spot in the College Football Playoff, while the other will not.

With stars like JJ McCarthy, Roman Wilson, and others appearing injured last weekend, here is the most recent Michigan football injury news ahead of the Ohio State game.

Will anyone miss Michigan’s game against Ohio State due to an injury?
We are only 24 hours away from the biggest Michigan football game of the year, and possibly the biggest Michigan-Ohio State game in my lifetime. With Jim Harbaugh suspended by the Big Ten, acting head coach Sherrone Moore will lead the way tomorrow, but once the Wolverines take the field, it will be up to the players to get the job done.

Last weekend, against Maryland, it was clear that Michigan football is not fully healthy right now. Here’s everything new that we’ve gathered this week.

Is JJ McCarthy in good health?

First and foremost, we have covered JJ McCarthy extensively this week, and quite rightly so. McCarthy hasn’t looked himself in recent weeks, and with Michigan football shifting to a run-heavy scheme under Sherrone Moore’s watch, it’s been rumored that he’s not 100 percent ready for the Ohio State game.

While JJ McCarthy admitted on Monday that he felt a little banged up last weekend, he claims to be feeling great right now. McCarthy is doing well, according to Sherrone Moore and Trevor Keegan, with Keegan even confirming that he is moving around well in practice this week. There’s no need to worry about that for the time being.

What is the current state of affairs with Roman Wilson?

Last weekend, Michigan football star wideout Roman Wilson took a nasty shot to the head and was immediately placed on concussion protocol. Wilson appeared to be in good spirits on the sidelines against Maryland, but he did not return to action, though it appears that he will play this weekend against Ohio State.

While Michigan will continue to consult with team doctors on Roman Wilson’s status, Sherrone Moore believes the Wolverines’ star pass-catcher will be back and ready to go this weekend.

The offensive line is in charge.

According to Sherrone Moore, the only Michigan football injury (among starting players) last weekend was LaDarius Henderson, who is expected to return this weekend. Furthermore, we learned this week that Henderson has resumed practice, which is a good sign.

While Myles Hinton is dealing with a knee injury, it appears that the entire offensive line room will be able to play against Ohio State on Saturday.
 Michael Barrett
Another Michigan football injury that Wolverines fans were keeping an eye on was that of star linebacker and team captain Micahel Barrett, who left the game against Maryland in the first half. Barrett says he is fine and will be ready after eventually returning to the game in a limited capacity (against Maryland).

Nothing, he says, will keep him from being ready to play against the Buckeyes, so he’ll be on the field one last time at the Big House on Saturday.
Will any Michigan football players miss the game against Ohio State?

Danny Hughes, a graduate running back, is the only Wolverine we believe will be listed as “out” on tomorrow’s Michigan football injury report. Otherwise, with No. 2 Ohio State visiting Ann Arbor on Saturday for a game with enormous implications for both teams, it appears that everyone else in Ann Arbor will be healthy enough to play in hopes of defeating the Buckeyes for the third season in a row.
