‘You’re paid to make saves!’ – Ferdinand SLAMS Onana after Bayern HOWLER

Rio Ferdinand commented on Andre Onana’s error at Bayern Munich.

On the Red Devils’ return to the Champions League, the Manchester United goalkeeper grabbed headlines for all the wrong reasons as he blundered his lines on a rather low effort from former Man City player Leroy Sane.

The pain Manchester United has been going through lately was the last thing they needed.Onana was hired to be a rock at the back, and although he wasn’t at his best in United’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton, which bizarrely led some supporters to long for David de Gea’s comeback, he had been reliable up until the Bayern game.

But questions are now being asked of Onana and his shot-stopping abilities and club legend Rio Ferdinand did not hold back after the goal.

What did Ferdinand about Onana?

For Onana, this is a worst-case situation, Ferdinand said to TNT Sports. He walks with as much confidence as you like, but you’re paid as a goalie to come in and make saves.

Sane didn’t really aim for it, he didn’t hit it beyond of his line of sight, and it wasn’t in the corners. Onana’s response is that he should keep this and use it as food and liquid for himself.

Ferdinand said, “He ought to be picking this up and looking for his next pass.” He needs to learn from this terrible mistake because it is very serious.

After the game, Ferdinand added: “All the blame lies at his door. It’s not in the corner, it’s not hit with ferocious power.

That just epitomises Manchester United this season. I think it’s 14 goals in five games they’ve conceded now and most of those goals, they could make it more difficult for their opponents.

He is aware of the gravity of his error, the mounting pressure, and the fact that everyone is watching him, but he hasn’t yet dealt with that crucial moment.

De Gea, a superb shot-blocker but one who was frequently criticized for his inability to play with the ball at his feet, was replaced by Onana.

The Cameroonian international was expected to be the whole package, bringing both strong shot stopping and outstanding technical skills to the table. However, it appears that pressure is starting to wear on him and his United teammates.
