West Ham have reportedly opened talks with Manchester United over a deal for Anthony Martial.

The French forward suffered multiple injuries last season which kept him out of regular first-team action for most of the campaign. Before the FA Cup final in June, Martial suffered a muscle tear that kept him on the sidelines for the season finale.

This issue has spilled into this campaign with the striker unable to feature in any of United’s pre-season matches. Although Martial has now returned to full training at Carrington, it is deemed unlikely he will start on Monday night against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to talkSPORT, Martial could be on his way to east London. They claim the 27-year-old has been identified as an option to strengthen the Hammers’ attack. It is understood David Moyes’ club are keeping tabs on Martial, with Fenerbahce also thought to be keen.

Elsewhere, Corriere Fiorentino reports that United are still frontrunners in the race to sign Sofyan Amrabat. Fiorentina’s defensive midfielder is expected to depart the Serie A side this summer.
