Man United bidders 'yet to be told club has been taken off the market'

Manchester United bidders have not been informed that the club is set to be removed from the market, despite recent speculation.

When the Glazer family indicated their desire to sell the Red Devils in November of last year, it was initially anticipated that a takeover would happen in April, if not by the start of the summer transfer window.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have emerged as the two leading contenders, however there have recently been rumors that the Glazers are considering a change of heart.

Due to their frustration that their asking price, which is estimated to be as high as £10 billion, has not been fulfilled, the American owners are said to have decided to remove the club off the market.

But despite obvious evidence, the Daily Mail claims that Man United bidders have not been advised that the club is no longer for sale.

This season, there have been new protests against the Glazer family from certain Man United supporters who are trying to expel them from the team.

Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim reportedly still think a takeover is feasible at this point in the process because conversations are still going on.

Despite vast discrepancies in the potential takeovers, the two sides’ most recent proposals, which are said to be for roughly £5 billion, are still on the table.

Indeed, Ratcliffe is only interested in a controlling position at the present, with a 100% takeover later on, but Sheikh Jassim wants to complete a full takeover.

There is still thought to be huge conflict within the Glazer family when it comes to the best course of action, with the siblings thought to have different ideas.

Man United had a middling start to the 2023–24 season, winning two and losing two of their first four Premier League games amid the off-the-field rumors.

The Red Devils have won at home over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, but have lost away to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Man United signed seven players during the summer transfer window, with Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta BC turning out to be the most expensive.

In addition to Jonny Evans, Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Altay Bayindir, who returned on a free transfer, Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon also signed on permanent contracts.
