Parkinson acknowledges the value of having rivalries.

WHAT OCCURED?This afternoon’s League Two match between the two teams will feature Wrexham, who haven’t lost since losing to MK Dons on the season’s opening day. With a sold-out crowd anticipated, they might win at Edgeley Park and move up the standings. It’s the first time the clubs have faced off since the 2021–22 season, when Stockport edged off Wrexham to win promotion at the conclusion of their first full season as the club’s owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

WHAT HE SAID: Prior to the game, Parkinson told The Leader that it was healthy to have rivalries. “We are aware that, in the months running up to January, our team was insufficient. At that point, we made changes and gave it our all. However, Stockport arguably had a little bit more strength in depth at the time. When summer arrived, the workers and owners examined how we might make it better, and after that, we were promoted. As a squad, we are always changing and improving. This includes not just adding new players but also working with the ones we already have.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Although there are certain players who have been with the club during the team’s 15-year journey back to the Football League, most of Wrexham’s development has been funded by their Hollywood owners.
