On the day of the transfer deadline, midfielder Sofyan Amrabat joined Manchester United on loan from Fiorentina. He recently opened out about his happiness playing for the Red Devils.
The future of the Moroccan international was a subject of contention all summer, but he decided to join Old Trafford just hours before the transfer deadline in September.
Amrabat is the first Moroccan to join the 20-time English champions, and he might make his debut for them against Brighton & Hove Albion during the break in international play.
He told the club’s official media, “I’m really proud. “I believe that many Moroccans already support Manchester United, but now there will be many more Moroccan supporters than before.
And they are incredibly proud. I wish to provide great joy and pride to the United supporters as well as to them.
“I believe United had a ton of young, outstanding midfielders. Therefore, in general, I place greater emphasis on midfielders like David Beckham, Roy Keane, and Paul Scholes.
But there were numerous significant actors.Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Louis Saha, Gary Neville, and [Cristiano] Ronaldo. I could yell names for an hour.
Naturally, [my brother and I] discussed it. He informed me that the Premier League, the strongest league in the world, is where I should play. I’m here now, and I can’t wait.
Amrabat also discussed the possibility of reuniting with Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag, who oversaw the midfielder during the early years of his career at Utrecht.
Because I was so young, it was crucial. He offered me the chance to play for Utrecht’s first team when I was 18 or 19 years old.
“We had a great time and a great season. He taught me a lot of things. He might therefore be one of the most significant figures in my profession right now.
“I think Erik ten Hag is a coach who will always push to the limit, so it’s fantastic,” I said. He’s famished. He desires success. I admire his winning spirit. I consider myself to be similar and successful. It’s a nice match because I want to succeed every day.
I dislike talking about myself. I want to demonstrate this on the field, but I can guarantee you I will give everything I have—every day, every hour, every second—my very best effort. Therefore, it is the only thing I can say at this time.Amrabat is reportedly being loaned out by Man United to Fiorentina for £8.5 million this season, but there is an option to make the transfer permanent for about £17.1 million plus £4.3 million in add-ons next summer.
