Manchester United’s anticipated lineup against Burnley…

Manchester United face Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday at 8 p.m., and this is how Erik ten Hag is expected to line up.Manchester United’s defeat against Bayern Munich made it three in a row; they cannot afford to make it four.

Burnley is a typical bogey team, but this isn’t the Burnley we’ve faced in the past; instead, we’re in for a footballing war.

Erik ten Hag’s confidence has been strengthened by the likely return of at least two of his top players, who would almost certainly be in his perfect XI.

The importance of this game cannot be overstated; with the heat already on Ten Hag, a result is required to quell the rumblings of discontent. Here is our predicted XI as United take on Burnley… A difficult night in Munich on Wednesday but the players need to be ready to go again and we think Erik will name a pretty similar XI. In goal, Andre Onana will start amid the ridiculous media attention he has been receiving following an error mid-week.

Diogo Dalot and Sergio Reguilon should keep their full-back berths, with the latter excelling in midweek.

The first return comes at centre-half, where Raphael Varane should be fit to return to the starting XI at a key time. His absence has been significant, and his return makes us significantly stronger defensively, especially with Lisandro Martinez alongside him in desperate need of some form.

In midfield, it appears that Sofyan Amrabat will not be able to start but will be on the bench. Ten Hag now has the same Casemiro and Christian Eriksen pivot that Bayern demolished.

Bruno Fernandes will start at number 10 where he is so effective, and he will need to be at his best to assist United get out of this slump.

Marcus Rashford will play on the left but must raise his effort levels. Across from Rashford, on the right, we believe a returning Mason Mount will thrive, as he has in the past.

Rasmus Hojlund will start up front, looking to add to the tally he started on Wednesday night.

Manchester United’s expected starting lineup is as follows: Onana; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Reguilon; Casemiro, Eriksen; Mount, Bruno, Rashford; and Hojlund.
