A 37-year-old Ipswich man who admitted to breaking into stores in the city was given a £1,285 fine.
On Wednesday, September 27, Scott Hyam appeared at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court and was given a six-month jail term with a 17-month suspension.
In addition, he was told to pay £1,285 in damages.
Hyam, of Ramsgate Drive, had already entered pleas of guilty to two burglaries: one on September 5 at the Co-op daily store in Woodbridge Road and another on September 6 at the Co-op store in Hines Road.
Two males were observed by security cameras at both establishments breaking the glass at the entrances.

Hyam was named as one of the suspects after the occurrences were looked into.
Officers are currently conducting investigations since a second suspect has not yet been found.
Hyam accepted three more crimes in Ipswich that had happened after the occurrences for which he was found guilty this week on September 13 when he appeared before the magistrates’ court earlier this month.
The Penhurst Road Co-op was broken into on Monday, September 11, and items like beer, cigarettes, and vaping goods were taken.
Additionally, he acknowledged to trying to break into the Clapgate Lane Co-op on one count.
The third accusation related to remarks made by Hyam after being apprehended and was for racially aggravating harassment by speech.
Hyam was given a six-month prison term with an 18-month suspension, ordered to pay £500 in restitution, and must also pay $379 in additional fees and expenses.
He also received an alcohol abstinence requirement, which requires him to refrain from ingesting any alcohol for 120 days, and a rehabilitation activity requirement.
