According to the Spanish news site Fichajes, Manchester United intends to “go all out” to recruit Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan next summer.

The 26-year-old has had an outstanding run with the Nerazzurri recently, leading them to the Champions League final, winning the Scudetto and a few domestic cup titles.

This season, the Argentine has kept up his impressive form for Inter, making six appearances across all competitions while tallying six goals and one assist.

So it would appear that Man Utd has been interested in the South American ahead of a potential deal in the forthcoming transfer season as a result of his great performances at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

The Red Devils made the decision to sign Rasmus Hojlund this summer after having difficulty scoring goals during the previous season. It looks like Man Utd will be trying to buy a more experienced striker next year because he is still extremely young and needs more time to advance in his career.

Ten Hag has reportedly picked Martinez as the best choice to strengthen the frontline, and the Dutchman has personally requested the Red Devils leadership to sign the South American next summer, according to the article by Fichajes.

According to the source, Inter are getting ready to extend a new contract to the 26-year-old to lock him into a long-term agreement. But should United make an unbeatable offer, they could decide to cash in on him given their financial situation.

Additionally, according to Fichajes, Man Utd is prepared to make a “strong” bid that ought to be sufficient to convince the Nerazzurri to let the departure of their star player. So it would seem like Martinez would be a major candidate for Man Utd to sign next summer.

Martinez’s current deal has three more years left in it and is estimated by Transfermarkt to be worth roughly £72 million. Therefore, if Inter is forced to sell him at the end of this season, they will be in a great position to demand a high price.

The Old Trafford supporters will be hopeful that the striker will be able to duplicate the same performance for Man Utd if he joins the club. The forward has previously demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess for Inter in recent times.

It would be intriguing to watch whether Ten Hag’s team ultimately decides to make a formal attempt to buy Martinez next summer.
