Next summer, Liverpool will battle with Chelsea and Real Madrid for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
Liverpool have joined Chelsea and Real Madrid in their pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Liverpool has recently showed interest in the midfielder, and other elite teams are also keeping an eye on him. These clubs are expected to re-enter the race for the former Ligue 1 player, possibly in January or next summer.

Newcastle, on the other hand, is determined to keep the South American player and is aggressively striving to secure his long-term future. Although his current contract expires in the summer of 2026, the Magpies are hoping to extend it.

Guimaraes joined St. James Park from Olympique Lyon in January 2022, and the club’s recent financial boost following its takeover has allowed them to make high-profile additions in the current transfer windows.

As a result, it would not be surprising if the Magpies sought a large transfer fee for their best player. Eddie Howe’s team is reportedly seeking €120 million (£100 million). Given the current situation of the market, the Tyneside club’s demands are understandable.

Liverpool’s midfield saw substantial changes over the summer, with key players such as Jordan Henderson and Fabinho departing. They have, nevertheless, made promising additions to their midfield.

Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai have already established their value at Anfield. Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch were also added, improving the team’s midfield options.

The Reds are set to pursue a new midfielder in the coming year, and Guimaraes is considered as an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp’s squad. However, considering the player’s exorbitant release clause, the English club may have to smash their club-record transfer fee to keep the Brazilian at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has a strong desire to spend money and can make life difficult for any club. On the other side, it is unclear whether Madrid will pay such a large price to sign a midfielder, given that they have previously signed Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund for a comparable fee.

Guimaraes may be persuaded to join Liverpool because of their Premier League status and the potential thrill of being a part of Klopp’s long-term plan, in our opinion.

It remains to be seen whether this conjecture is correct and whether the Magpies are able to sign the player to a new long-term contract. Real Madrid’s participation in the competition usually complicates matters, and Chelsea has a habit of grabbing our midfield.
