Manchester United won back-to-back Premier League games on Saturday night, defeating Sheffield United 2-1
Manchester United began a key week with a 2-1 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Scott McTominay put the visitors ahead with a scuffed attempt that found its way into Wes Foderingham’s far post. However, just six minutes later, the Scottish international was ruled to have handled a Blades cross in the area, and Oli McBurnie converted the following penalty.
United improved after the break and won with less than 15 minutes remaining thanks to Diogo Dalot’s spectacular long-range goal. Erik ten Hag’s team has moved up to eighth place, just five points behind the top four.
With that in mind, here are United’s next six Premier League matchups in relation to their opponents.
The Reds’ derby against Manchester City is, of course, the highlight of the weekend. The final six games of the season will be difficult as well, with Newcastle and Chelsea on the horizon.
If United’s top-four hopes are to be realized, victories over Luton and Everton are expected, but the three games against top-four challengers will be the most difficult.
